What is AtomQuest 2024?
AtomQuest, which is Atomberg’s flagship initiative, aims at creating meaningful solutions to the arena of energy efficient technologies by bridging the gap between academia and industry, to foster innovation. The competition is now in its third edition which provides an opportunity for participants to work on fresh problem statements in close collaboration with Atomberg’s R&D team.
AtomQuest aim’s participants to express their creativity, technical ability, and the ability to solve practical problems from conception all the way to show a full featured prototype. Cash prizes, internships, andAtomberg career opportunities await winners.
Eligibility and Team Formation Criteria:
Atom Quest 2024 is open to:
- Full-time undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and PhD students from any college in India are invited to participate in Atom Quest 2024.
- Individuals or groups of up to 4 members are allowed to sign up for the event.
- A student can only belong to a single team also.
- Teams of up to 4 members, encouraging cross-discipline and cross-college collaborations.
- Teams that have members with diverse skill sets in areas such as Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Electrical, etc., will have a competitive advantage.
- To form a team, every team member must validate and authenticate their own information.
- For that competition, individuals who are Indian nationals currently living in India and aged more than 16 years are required.
- They cannot participate in the competition if a participant has a criminal history or if they are committed.
- Atomberg could ask for a proof of age and address, when necessary.
Competition Stages: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide
AtomQuest unfolds across four intense and rewarding rounds. Let’s explore each stage in detail:
Round 1: Abstract Submission for AtomQuest 2024
Dates: November 22 – December 5, 2024
Participants must submit a 1–3 page abstract in PDF format, detailing their solution to a selected problem statement. This round emphasizes clarity, innovation, and feasibility, making it crucial to keep submissions concise and impactful.
Round 2: Proposal and Prototype Plan Submission
Date: Late December 2024 (exact date TBA)
- The teams that are selected for the next stage will need to create a detailed project report and a video prototype that demonstrates their solution.
- The deadline for submitting both the video prototype and the report will be in the last week of December. The specific date will be given after the abstract submission round is completed.
This phase is about refining ideas and demonstrating their potential through a clear, structured approach.
Round 3: Semi-Final Prototype Presentation
Dates: Scheduled from 3rd-7th January 2024 (at Shaastra, IIT Madras)
Teams will present functional prototypes or detailed simulations of their solutions to a panel of judges comprising Atomberg leaders and industry experts.

Round 4: Grand Finale
Location: Atomberg Innovation Center (AIC)
